CEDAR Group Therapy and Support Groups Group psychotherapy is a powerful adjunct to individual psychotherapy because it allows group members to test out healthier ways of connecting with others, to trust and confront others safely and to express difficult emotions appropriately. New Groups Currently Seeking Members: Specialized Nutrition Groups All
nutrition groups are led by one of CEDAR’s Registered Dietitians. Healthy Habits: This nutrition group utilizes nutrition education and behavior modification to help children and their families, eat and exercise in harmony with their bodies. The group is appropriate for children ages 10 through 14 years. Please see our website for additional information.
Intensive 12-Week Group: CEDAR Associates of Westchester and Rockland Counties, New York: Intensive 12-week group for individuals suffering with eating disorders. Individuals will develop and utilize tools for Goal Achievement. This group program is designed for personal empowerment in the pursuit of goals related to eating disorders. It will address the following types of goals:
Participants must make a commitment to attend all 12 group sessions and agree to maintain confidentiality of all other group members. This unique group is designed to be an educational experience to promote the cognitive behavioral skills needed to obtain your goals and desires, so the cost for the 12-week group program is $1,200—paid at the first session (insurance will not be accepted). Each attendee will also be required to purchase a workbook, which is an additional $14. Group is open to individuals 15 and older. Maximum of 15 participants will be selected for the group. Sexual Abuse and Incest Survivor's Groups at CEDAR Associates Mount Kisco Center: CEDAR Associates is forming two separate weekly, ongoing psychotherapy groups for adolescent and adult women who are survivors of sexual abuse and/or incest.
