Elissa Zelman, Psy.D.
Director of Scarsdale Office
Dr. Elissa Zelman is a clinical psychologist who works with
adolescents and adults and specializes in eating disorders. She received specialized eating disorder training at the Institute of Living Hospital in Hartford, CT.
She later developed and directed the Eating Disorder Recovery Center in Washington DC. After moving to NY in 1998, she began working at CEDaR Associates and
opened the Scarsdale branch in 2002, where she currently remains as the director. Publications include articles about attachment theory and research on the
transgenerational impact of the holocaust on eating attitudes and behaviors. She lectures on Eating Disorders frequently, both locally and regionally. She is a
member of the APA, and the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA).
Susan Schrott, MSW, LCSW
Susan Schrott MSW, LCSW - is a licensed
clinical social worker with over twenty years of clinical psychotherapy experience and specializing in the treatment of eating disorders. She worked as a
consultant for the Renfrew Center of New York City before joining CEDAR Associates in 2001. Her treatment approach includes insight-oriented psychotherapy,
cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) the use of various art therapy mediums as well as meditation and yoga. She received her Master’s in Social Work from New York
University, is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the National Eating Disorder Foundation (NEDA). She is the recipient of the Livingston
Welch Research Award, the Belle Zeller Award for Outstanding Leadership and Contribution to the Community (City University of New York), and Scholarship awards
from the Jewish Foundation for the Education of Women. Publications and presentations include articles and research on the social and psychological aspects of
Rape; Women’s role conflicts; Myths and Attribution theory and their influence and attitudes towards rape victims as well as numerous articles and speaking
engagements. Susan works collaboratively with other professionals and believes strongly in building a reciprocal and supportive rapport with her colleagues and
members of the community. She is also a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in NYC, has an extensive career in musical theatre and is a
professional award-winning artist with works appearing in numerous private collections, galleries and museums.
Erica Leon, MS, RD, CDN
Erica Leon is a registered dietitian
with over 25 years of professional experience working with adults, children and families. She specializes in nutrition therapy for eating disorders, obesity and
weight management, as well as diabetes, heart disease and nutrition through the life cycle. She holds a bachelor's degree in nutrition from Cornell University
and a master's degree in clinical nutrition from New York University. To enhance patient care, she obtained a personal trainer certification from the American
Council on Exercise and has completed Advanced Training in pediatric obesity through the University of California in San Francisco. She is a licensed Shapedown
provider, a behavioral weight management program for families of overweight children and teens. Erica has written many professional articles on nutrition and is a
frequent speaker on topics such as eating disorder prevention and childhood weight issues. She was recently recognized with the prestigious Jenkins award from
the PTA of the Ardsley school district for her contributions to the youth of Ardsley. In addition to her work with CEDAR Associates, Erica maintains a private
nutrition and personal training practice in Ardsley.
