Judy Scheel, Ph.D., LCSW

Executive Director of CEDAR Associates

Judy Scheel, Ph.D., LCSW is the Founder and Executive Director of Cedar Associates, a private outpatient program specializing in the treatment of eating disorders and other self harm behaviors. She is the President of Cedar Associates Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the prevention, education and research of eating disorders.

Dr. Scheel has been treating eating disorders for more than 25 years and over this time has formulated and strengthened her beliefs that mutual respect, empathy and trust are second to none in the maintenance of healthy relationships and are the cornerstone to relational repair and recovery from an eating disorder.

She has co-produced a nationally distributed educational video with teaching manual for students in grades 8-12 on eating disorders and prevention-Awarded Honorable Mention by Columbus International Film and Video Festival.
She has been a lecturer at Purchase College, SUNY and a frequent presenter at local, regional and national conferences. She is a member of the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), Academy for Eating Disorders (AED), and the Eating Disorders Coalition, Inc., a public policy organization in Washington, DC. Cedar Associates is currently conducting research on the effect of the therapeutic relationship in eating disorder recovery.

Kristin Lore, LCSW

Director of Mt. Kisco Office

Kristin Lore, LCSW is a clinical social worker who specializes in eating disorders and works with adolescents and adults. She received her Masters degree from Columbia University. She received specialized eating disorder training at St. Vincent’s Hospital’s inpatient eating disorder unit where she later worked and assisted in developing a sexual trauma track. In 1997, she began working at CEDAR Associates and became the coordinator of the Mt. Kisco branch. She has written articles for local magazines and has lectured on the topic of eating disorders.

Jacqueline Reilly, MS LMSW

Jacqueline Reilly, MS LMSWJacqueline Reilly was a doctoral candidate in political theory at the New School for Social Research when her interests were drawn to psychotherapy and she shifted gears completing a Masters Degree at Columbia University. She was one of the principal psychotherapists at the out patient eating disorder clinic at New York Presbyterian Hospital for a number of years before joining the Cedar Associates team in 2002. She lectures locally and is the creator of the 12 week cognitive behavioral therapy group treating bulimia. She has taken part in national studies assessing various cognitive behavioral models for the treatment of bulimia and binge eating disorders.

Prior to her specialization in the treatment of eating disorders Ms. Reilly worked with heroin addicted HIV/Aids patients and has ten years experience in the field of public policy.

Erica Leon, MS, RD, CDN

Erica Leon, MS, RD, CDNErica Leon is a registered dietitian with over 25 years of professional experience working with adults, children and families. She specializes in nutrition therapy for eating disorders, obesity and weight management, as well as diabetes, heart disease and nutrition through the life cycle. She holds a bachelor's degree in nutrition from Cornell University and a master's degree in clinical nutrition from New York University. To enhance patient care, she obtained a personal trainer certification from the American Council on Exercise and has completed Advanced Training in pediatric obesity through the University of California in San Francisco. She is a licensed Shapedown provider, a behavioral weight management program for families of overweight children and teens.

Erica has written many professional articles on nutrition and is a frequent speaker on topics such as eating disorder prevention and childhood weight issues. She was recently recognized with the prestigious Jenkins award from the PTA of the Ardsley school district for her contributions to the youth of Ardsley. In addition to her work with CEDAR Associates, Erica maintains a private nutrition and personal training practice in Ardsley.

Nicole Celentano, Psy.D., CEDS

Nicole Celentano, Psy.D., CEDS Dr. Celentano is a licensed (NY and CT) clinical psychologist. A Certified Eating Disorders Specialist since 1994, Dr. Celentano served as Clinical Director of two inpatient eating disorders programs before establishing the New Orleans Center for Eating Disorders in 2002.

She earned her Doctorate of Psychology at the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in Atlanta, and specializes in the treatment of eating disorders, trauma-based disorders, and borderline personality disorder. She also holds a Master’s of Science in Human Nutrition and is a Certified Nutritional Consultant.

Dr. Celentano received advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy at the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute, and has also had intensive training and experience in the use of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for the treatment of borderline personality disorder. She founded the DBT Psychotherapy Network in New Orleans in 2004. Dr. Celentano has conducted research on such topics as body image and eating disorders in nutritionists; and the relationship between eating disorders, trauma, and dissociation. She has taught at the New Orleans Psychoanalytic Institute and is an associate professor at Tulane University Medical School and LSU Medical School.

Dr. Celentano has been featured in Health and Fitness Magazine and Gambit Weekly, and was profiled in Gambit's "40 under 40." She has been featured as a guest speaker on Television and radio, and lectures regionally and nationally. Dr. Celentano utilizes an integrative approach to treatment.
